Color Gel Coats are available in quart, gallon or five-gallon sizes. Gel Coat kits are available in quart, gallon and 4-gallon cases and come with (#69) MEKP catalyst. One gallon of gel coat will cover approximately 40-80 square feet, depending upon application.
What Is RAL 5014 Pigeon Blue Color Gel Coat?
RAL 5014 Pigeon Blue Color Gel Coat is a polyester gel coat precision-formulated to the RAL 5014 Pigeon Blue standard. Gel coat goes into the mold first, before any reinforcement, and becomes the finished outer surface of the part. Because the Pigeon Blue color is in the gel coat resin itself, it is part of the surface permanently rather than a topcoat that can be worn away.
Why Choose RAL 5014 Pigeon Blue Color Gel Coat?
Pigeon Blue is a soft, cool blue with a gentle, muted quality that gives it a calm, refined character. Its understated tone makes it a versatile specification for interior composite panels, architectural parts, and consumer products where a soft, pigeon-toned blue finish is preferred. Fibre Glast matches it precisely to the RAL 5014 standard, so the color is consistent and repeatable across production runs. For physical color confirmation before ordering, the #4008-A RAL Color Book has printed swatches of all 188 RAL colors.
What Are the Best Applications for RAL 5014 Pigeon Blue Color Gel Coat?
Interior composite panels, architectural parts, and consumer products where a soft, muted pigeon blue finish is the specification. It can also be used for open-air repairs when combined with Duratec Hi-Gloss Additive.
How Should RAL 5014 Pigeon Blue Color Gel Coat Be Used for Best Results?
RAL 5014 Pigeon Blue Color Gel Coat requires careful film build for best results. Catalyze with #69 MEKP at 1.5% to 2.5% and spray over a properly prepared mold surface. Apply 4 to 5 coats of about 5 mils each, allowing 15 to 20 minutes between coats, building to a total of 20 to 25 mils. The #122-A Gel Coat Thickness Gauge helps keep film build consistent across the part. Thin with #70 Styrene Thinner or Duratec #1039/#1040 as needed for spray viscosity. Coverage is 40 to 80 square feet per gallon. This is a made-to-order color and all sales are final.

This was a spot on match. I actually went through Contender to get the correct color of this boat and then ordered through the vendor they preferred. The color from their vendor was way off, like putting purple on blue. Went back and forth with the vendor and they assured us there could not be a mistint in the color they sent. Pretty much a waste of time so I did some research and found Fibreglast, found the color Pigeon blue and said what the heck and ordered it. When it came in a was an exact match we were blown away. Will definitely be using Fibreglast again.
