Color Gel Coat
Our Color Gel Coats are mixed to perfectly match the color of your choice. In addition to our RAL colors, we have 720 more colors of Gel Coat available when you call in.
Color Gel Coat is designed to be used in mold to produce UV resistant, blister resistant, high-quality parts when laying up polyester or vinyl ester parts. They can be used in repair applications with an air inhibitor such as Duratec High Gloss Additive.
Color Gel Coats are available in quart, gallon or five-gallon sizes. Gel Coat kits are available in quart, gallon and 4-gallon cases and come with (#69) MEKP catalyst. One gallon of gel coat will cover approximately 40-80 square feet, depending upon application.
What Is RAL 1027 Curry Color Gel Coat?
RAL 1027 Curry Color Gel Coat is a made-to-order polyester gel coat matched to RAL 1027, Curry. In polyester and vinyl ester composite construction, gel coat is the first layer applied to the mold and becomes the smooth, colored outer skin of every part pulled from it. The Curry color runs through the gel coat material itself rather than sitting on top as a secondary finish.

Decorative composite panels, consumer products, and parts where a rich, warm curry-toned yellow finish adds depth and character. For open-air repair applications, combine with Duratec Hi-Gloss Additive to cure tack free.
How Should RAL 1027 Curry Color Gel Coat Be Used for Best Results?
Apply RAL 1027 Curry Color Gel Coat by spraying onto a properly prepared mold surface, catalyzed with #69 MEKP at 1.5% to 2.5%. Build up 4 to 5 coats at about 5 mils per coat, allowing 15 to 20 minutes between each, for a finished thickness of 20 to 25 mils total. The #122-A Gel Coat Thickness Gauge takes the guesswork out of film build. Use #70 Styrene Thinner or Duratec #1039/#1040 to reach spray viscosity if needed. One gallon yields 40 to 80 square feet of coverage. As a made-to-order product, all Color Gel Coat sales are final.
