Infusion Spray Adhesive

Details

Designed for the infusion molding process.

What Is Infusion Spray Adhesive?

1601-A Infusion Adhesive is a spray adhesive formulated specifically for the vacuum infusion process. It holds reinforcing materials including fiberglass, Soric, peel ply, and core boards in position before and during infusion.

Unlike general bonding sprays, 1601-A cross-links with the infusion resin to become part of the integrated matrix rather than a foreign material within it.

Why Choose Infusion Spray Adhesive?

In vacuum infusion, the dry stack must hold its exact position while the bag is pulled down and resin is drawn through. 1601-A provides high tack for optimal hold and low shrinkage during cure so the layup is not distorted. It contains no HAPS and is compatible with infusion resins. Note: 1601-A sprays blue and may leave a blue tint in finished parts when used with white fiberglass.

What Are the Best Applications for Infusion Spray Adhesive?

Use 1601-A to tack reinforcing fabric, Soric, peel ply, and core boards onto plugs and molds and to one another during infusion layup. Within Fibre Glast's spray adhesive line, choose 1601-A for infusion work where the adhesive must become part of the matrix.

For strict VOC environments, 1602-A is the compliant infusion option. For general contact bonding rather than infusion, see 1603-A General Purpose and 1604-A Marine sprays.

How Should Infusion Spray Adhesive Be Used for Best Results?

Apply a light, even coat using the pebble spray pattern to hold materials in position. Keep the blue tint in mind when working with white or light fiberglass. Meets ASTM D790.
