Within your vacuum bagging lay-up, this Breather/Bleeder drapes easily over your laminate, directly below your bagging film, to serve two key purposes.
As a breather, it allows for vacuum pressure to be applied evenly across the entire surface of the laminate. It also permits any gases released during cure to escape. Use the 4 oz. format (#579) for applications working under 40 psi. The 7 oz. format (#1779) can be used at higher pressure cycles (between 40 and 85 psi), and provides a lower amount of surface porosity.
When used as a bleeder, both varieties absorb excess resin applied during the lay-up process. Keep in mind, the 7 oz. will absorb more resin and may result in a dry part without careful control. Bleeder should be thrown away after use.
Both 4 oz. and 7 oz. are available in 60"-wide formats.
Folded prepacks are typically shipped in a small box, or packaged in a box with other items on your order. Rolled materials ship in a long (45", 53", or 62") box.

Breather and Bleeder Breather/Bleeder is sold by the linear yard, either as a prepackaged quantity or by continuous yardage. Prepacks This breather/bleeder is available in pre-cut lengths that measure one yard (#579-A, folded package & #1779-A, roll), three yards (#579-B & #1779-B, roll), and five yards (#579-C & #1779-C, roll). Each is packaged and sold separately. For your convenience, these "prepacks" can be purchased in any combination. However, if the length for breather/bleeder totals 10 yards or more, we suggest you purchase it in continuous, "cut to length" yardage. Continuous, "Cut to Length" Yardage If you know in advance that you intend to purchase 10 yards or more of breather/bleeder, it should be ordered in continuous, "cut to length" yardage. In this case, it will be cut once according to the total yardage ordered, and customers receive a price-per-yard discount as compared to prepacks. Quantity discounts continue to deepen as the yardage increases for any one cut of this material.
Just saying breather is great but would like a heavier breather. Making skis I find that doubling the later works too well and a single layer almost enough.
