Quick-build, No-flex Parts–Twice the Fiber Density
With twice the fiber density of 3K fabric selections, the 5-Harness Satin Weave builds quickly to form lightweight structural applications that feature virtually no flex. Its unique satin weave features carbon fibers bundled and woven repeatedly to float over four bundles, then under one. As a result, the fabric is flatter and more easily draped over the most complex shapes, especially compared to plain or satin weaves.
6K, 5HS Satin Weave Carbon Fiber Fabric Features
- This material builds quickly to form lightweight structures with virtually no flex.
- With twice the fiber density of the 3K types, this fabric is ideal for structural applications
- Works well with complex shapes
- Unmatched strength to weight ratio
- 50" width suits most projects
- Fatigue resistance for durable strength
6K, 5HS Satin Weave Carbon Fiber Fabric Tips
- Because of its unique satin weave, one side of the fabric will look different than the other. Fabricators will usually invert half the plies when looking to produce a symmetrical laminate.
- To maximize strength properties, use with an epoxy, like our System 2000 Epoxy Resin (#2000).

What is 6K 5HS Satin Weave Carbon Fiber Fabric?
The 6K, 5-Harness Satin Weave Carbon Fiber Fabric (#660) from Fibre Glast builds quickly to form lightweight structural applications that feature virtually no flex.
With twice the fiber density of 3K fabric selections, this fabric features carbon fibers bundled and woven repeatedly to float over four bundles, then under one.
As a result, the fabric is flatter and more easily draped over the most complex shapes, especially compared to plain or twill weaves.
The #660 weighs 10.8 oz/sq yd at 50 inches wide and delivers a tensile strength of 610-700 KSI.
Why Choose 5HS Satin Weave Over Plain or Twill Carbon Fiber?
The 5-harness satin weave construction makes the #660 flatter and more easily draped than plain or twill weave fabrics, making it ideal for complex shapes where conformability is important.
Because of its unique satin weave, one side of the fabric will look different than the other. Fabricators will usually invert half the plies when looking to produce a symmetrical laminate.
The #660 also delivers notably higher tensile strength (610-700 KSI) compared to the 6K twill (#1073 at 525-600 KSI), combining superior drapability with stronger mechanical performance.
What Are the Best Applications for #660 Satin Weave Carbon?
The #660 is ideal for lightweight structural applications that require complex shape conformability and virtually no flex in the finished part.
With twice the fiber density of 3K types, this fabric builds thickness quickly, making it well suited for structural applications where production efficiency matters.
The 50-inch width suits most projects.
How Should #660 Satin Weave Carbon Be Used for Best Results?
To maximize strength properties, use with an epoxy resin such as Fibre Glast System 2000 Epoxy (#2000).
Because of its unique satin weave, one side of the fabric will look different than the other — fabricators will usually invert half the plies when looking to produce a symmetrical laminate.
Available in 1-yard (#660-A), 3-yard (#660-B), and 5-yard (#660-C) prepacks, as well as continuous cut-to-length yardage for orders of 10 yards or more.
Quantity discounts continue to deepen as yardage increases for any single cut of fabric.
Fibre Glast is committed to ensuring that every roll of fabric is First Quality and manufactured to the highest standards, delivering consistent properties and handling characteristics every time you order.

I've tried alot of different carbon fibers in a very short amount of time but none of them yeilded such high strength parts like this stuff while still being really conformable to complex shapes during hand layups. Fabric builds depth and strength with minimal layers as well as being easy to use. The finished products have the best aesthetics thanks to that weave. My personal favorite to work with. :)
