Epoxy Surface Coat is top notch

Dec 31, 2020  |  By Mike James

I've used this product in it's various forms, since it was called "Akemi", back in the early 1990s, and it does exactly what I wanted... providing a VERY tough surface coat that can take the stress of mold making. Highly recommended!

Almost too thick

Mar 15, 2017  |  By Randy Sonnicksen

As I write this I'm almost dreading laying up the 2nd half of my mold. I was surprised by how thick this "low viscosity" surface coat is. I was impossible to spread with a brush, and get my job done (about 250 square inches) within the pot life. I switched from a brush to a body filler spreader which worked better. This material will not self level. If you have thickness variations or "blobs", they will remain in the finished product. This is not all bad, just took me by surprise, and given the short pot life, I had to adjust my plan quickly.
