- We do not recommend cutting wet fabrics during lay-up due to the potential for resin to dry on the blades.

This cutter works very well in cutting both glass and carbon. They are easy to use, hold a sharp edge, are built of high quality, and their batteries allow a good run time. We use them to cut carbon fibre and glass fibre for the production of composite bridge girders.

We use these in a manufacturing environment to cut our cardboard packaging into manageable sizes to go into recycling containers. They have replaced the box cutters / utility knives we had for that process and have eliminated all cuts making a much safer task. These have stood up well, are functional, very durable, and provide a great safety aspect for cutting material away from you rather than towards you.

I got these yesterday. I cut carbon fiber roving and fiberglass roving today. It was magically easy. It cuts curves easy in either direction. It cuts without fraying the fabric.

We have to cut samples of our finished product which is a coated fabric for the auto industry. This little scissor is exactly the perfect tool for that job. No pulling on the material as it cuts.
Good shears

I am a full-time custom trailer boat builder and these electric shears have really made cutting cloth a breeze. No more hand fatigue and much faster cutting of 1708 fiberglass cloth. Only concern is sometimes the battery doesn't make full contact and I have to pull the contacts out more. Makes sure to cut fabric only as tracing around hard shapes has dulled my blades already but no problem because they are replaceable. I haven't tried the blunt tip yet but I imagine it works just as good on leather or thin plastics. Aloha from Maui Hawaii.
