Six Foot Foam Blocks

Full Scale Building Has Never Been Easier!
Polyisocyanurate foam has been a favorite material of pattern builders for years. Now, in 6 foot lengths, and up to 2’ thick, you can cut, carve, sand, and sculpt any shape imaginable without gluing numerous sheets together or pouring your own block.

Although this foam can be easily CNC machined, it should not be hot wired. Professional results can be achieved when working by hand. With the variety of tools available on our site, you can saw, carve, plane and smooth out your shape. You will then lay layers of fiberglass and resin to protect and strengthen your shape. Finally, you will spray Duratec® Surfacing Primer and buff to a perfect shine. A perfect plug allows for a perfect mold which makes the high gloss, perfect part you want.

These are full six foot blocks available in two different thicknesses - one foot and two foot.

1 Foot and 2 Foot Cubes

Smaller Blocks for Smaller Projects
This is the same polyisocyanurate foam as stated above, but in smaller cubes. Smaller block allow for making smaller projects or to practice on smaller pieces before buying a full block. Available in one foot and two foot cubes.

Polyisocyanurate Foam Sheets

Pattern-Making and Moldless Designs
Our polyurethane foam sheets have the same properties as the mix and pour foam listed above, but come in rigid sheets of varying thickness. They are suitable for most sandwich core applications and are ideal for those which require insulating cores. This foam is easily cut and shaped with a sharp knife and sandpaper. Pattern-making has never been quicker! It can also be glued together to form blocks as thick as necessary for shaping functional moldless-type parts. 48" x 72" sheets must be cut for UPS shipment.

2 lb. Polyurethane Mix and Pour Foam

For Floatation and Sculpting
#24/25 is a two-part, equal mix, self-rising, 2lb/ cu. ft. density closed-cell foam system. Foaming begins within 45 seconds after the two liquids are mixed and continues for several more minutes. The foam expands approximately 30 times its liquid volume before curing, and will fill any shape cavity. It does not react with oil or gasoline and it will not absorb water. #24/25 is ideal for floatation applications and provides 60 pounds of floatation per cubic foot of foam. Unlike polyester foams, polyurethane foam is compatible with both polyester and epoxy resins.

Modeling Clay

Plenty of Uses
KLEEN KLAY® is a non-drying clay having many applications in most phases of fiberglass molding including temporary fillets, construction of mold parting lines and quick repairs to molds. The oil base of this clay allows PVA separator to be applied to it and also provides a good measure of adhesion to waxed surfaces. KLEEN KLAY is a registered trademark of Art Chemical Products.

Super 77 and High-Strength 90 Spray Adhesive

Temporary and Permanent Bonding
We have done some serious testing and have found these two adhesives to work perfectly with the foam. In the event you make a mistake, simply cut out a 90° degree piece and glue in another piece with 3M® Super 77. This adhesive is strong but is repositionable for several days allowing you to get the corrected piece sculpted into shape. After the shape is perfected, permanently affix it with the 3M® High-Strength 90. The High-Strength 90 will form a permanent bond with the foam after a 24 hour cure time.

These adhesives can also be used to adhere sheets together or blocks to blocks. Additionally, Super 77 created a minimal bond line compared to any other adhesive – necessary for sanding two sections together. The Super 77 contains 24 ounces and the High-Strength 90 contains 17 ounces.
