Resists Impact for Parts and Tubes

2", 9.9 oz/sq yd, 0.018" thick

These Kevlar® sleeves are highly impact and abrasion resistant. They can be slid over a prepared mandrel or cylinder to create straight or tapered tubing. In addition, braided sleeves will completely conform to the shape of products with changing geometries like prosthetics and hockey sticks, improving overall performance, minimizing weight, and maximizing strength.

The sleeves can be increased from their base diameter up to 30% and decreased up to 70%. This means that our 2" sleeve can be used in a single application ranging from 0.6" to 2.6" in diameter.

Braided sleeve is seamless, so it withstands internal pressure, distributes the load more evenly, and tolerates damage and fatigue. When the product is pressurized, it works much like a shark's body, orienting to the direction of force. If a puncture in the finished product does occur, the sleeve provides a slow, controlled failure, rather than a more damaging and potentially dangerous rupture.

Laying up sleeves is predictable, repeatable, and suitable for precise manufacture of composite parts. Braided sleeves are extremely resistant to cracks between layers, reducing the possibility of delaminating and increasing the strength of the product.

Cutting composite grade Kevlar® can be a headache! #2733 Modified Kevlar® Scissors are designed to make precise, clean cuts for even the toughest fabrics. Unique design features a serrated lower blade that holds fabric in place, while a smooth upper blade makes the cut.

Fibre Glast is committed to ensuring that every roll of fabric we handle is First Quality and manufactured to the highest standards, so that you can expect the same properties and handling characteristics every time you order.

Kevlar® Fabric is made with genuine DuPont™ Kevlar® fiber. DuPont™ and Kevlar® are registered trademarks of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company and are used with permission.

Shipping

All prepackaged rolls of KEVLAR® sleeve, when ordered alone, will typically ship in a small box. Where possible, we will combine ordered items to reduce the number of boxes shipped.

Sizes

2" Braided Kevlar® Biaxial Sleeve Sleeve is sold by the linear yard, either as a prepackaged quantity or by continuous yardage. Prepacks Sleeve is available in pre-cut lengths that measure one yard (#2611-A, roll), three yards (#2611-B, roll), and five yards (#2611-C, roll). Each is packaged and sold separately. For your convenience, these "prepacks" can be purchased in any combination. However, if the length for any one cut of sleeve totals 10 yards or more, we suggest you purchase it in continuous, "cut to length" yardage. Continuous, "Cut to Length" Yardage If you know in advance that you intend to purchase 10 yards or more of sleeve, it should be ordered in continuous, "cut to length" yardage. In this case, sleeve will be cut once according to the total yardage ordered, and customers receive a price-per-yard discount as compared to prepacks. Quantity discounts continue to deepen as the yardage increases for any one cut of sleeve.
