First, the best advice we can give you is to take a little time to educate yourself before jumping into your first project. You will find a ton of free educational resources on this site. The Learning Center offers several highly valuable free resources to get you started. There are several free brochures but you might find The Fundamentals of Fiberglass and Molding Fiberglass to be particularly helpful in getting started.

Next, you will want to review the Books and Videos page of our Online Catalog. Although they are not free these resources offer a variety of valuable information. If you learn best by watching rather than reading, you might be interested in our 5 Video Set. We have published the most comprehensive set of videos about composite techniques available anywhere!

Additionally, we recommend doing a small project before tackling that big project you can’t wait to start. If you would like some guidance about those first product selections, check out the “How To” Guidelines in the Learning Center. With the products on this list, you will have everything you need to complete a project. After you get familiar with the techniques, you’ll be much more comfortable altering the process and being adventurous with the materials!
