Polyurethane Modeling Plank - 41 lbs/cu ft
This Polyurethane Modeling Plank is a lower-density, urethane based tooling plank. It has been specifically developed to be machined to create economic prototypes, master models, patterns, molds, prototype foundry patterns, die models, visual models, and prototype vacuum form molds. This modeling plank has been manufactured without grain, making it an extremely stable material for accurate machining using N/C tape or CAD/CAM systems. #4102 Polyurethane Modeling Plank has great dimensional stability, superior edge definition, and resists warping.

When machined, planed sawed, or drilled, this modeling plank produces chips instead of dust. Prototype models made with #4102 Polyurethane Modeling Plank can easily be painted and finished. To change or finish fixtures made with this modeling plank, use #4105 Polyester Low Density Plank Filler.

Fibre Glast carries a convenient size of Polyurethane Modeling Plank. This size isn't available anywhere else! For small to medium sized projects, we have the perfect size plank!

Polyurethane Die Plank - 52 lbs/cu ft
This medium-density Polyurethane Die Plank is an aluminum filled tooling plank designed for CNC machining of tough production fixtures. Use this die plank to quickly produce lightweight and abrasion resistant fixtures that will withstand the most demanding production environments. Make accurate checking fixtures, holding fixtures, low-volume foundry patterns, temporary models, headliner tools, and many types of tooling including vacuum-form tools.

When machined, #4103 Polyurethane Die Plank produces chips instead of undesirable dust. To repair, bond, or smooth this die plank, use #4106 Polyester Plank Patch Paste with Black BPO Cream Hardener.

Polyurethane Tooling Board - 71 lbs/cu ft
This high-density Polyurethane Tooling Board is ideal for machining extremely durable prototypes, foundry patterns, and tools that require incredible wear resistance and impact resistance. A tough, cost effective alternative to metal, #4104 Polyurethane Tooling Board can produce high volume patterns that will combat the harshest production applications.

When machined, #4104 Polyurethane Tooling Board produces flakes instead of dust. To repair, bond, or smooth this tooling board, use #4107 Epoxy Plank Patch Paste Kit. Other applications for Polyurethane Tooling Board include: core boxes, match plates, metal forming, hammer forming, stretch press dies, hemming bucks and hydroform tooling.

Epoxy Tooling Dough
Use #4108 Epoxy Tooling Dough as a sandwich material between layers of fiberglass to quickly create a low temperature, durable, dimensionally stable tool. An ideal alternative to using multiple layers of fiberglass in tooling applications, this two-part, lightweight, Epoxy Tooling Dough offers outstanding strength properties while saving time, materials, and labor. After proper mixing, this epoxy tooling putty can be applied at any thickness above ¼" to the tool surface without excessive exotherm and will not crumble or crack. Tools made with #4108 Epoxy Tooling Dough can easily be machined or drilled.

Mix the blue resin and the yellow hardener 1:1 (by volume). Knead the two dough compounds together until a homogenous, light-green color is achieved. Mixing can easily be done by hand, but in larger applications, a bread mixer is recommended.

Application Techniques
1. Dough Balls - Apply the mixed tooling dough onto the tool surface by creating dough balls and gently pressing them until a flat, level surface is created.
2. Patties - Prior to pressing the mixed dough onto the tool surface, roll, shape, and cut the material into uniform patties. Then, gently press the dough patties onto the tool surface.
3. Slurry - A slurry can be created by combining catalyzed epoxy resin and mixed Epoxy Tooling Dough. This slurry is not absolutely necessary, but can promote a better bond between the Epoxy Tooling Dough and laminated layers of fiberglass.
Polyester Low Density Plank Filler
#4105 Polyester Low Density Plank Filler is a thixotropic paste developed for changing, shaping, forming, and finishing fixtures made with #4102 Polyurethane Modeling Plank. Because of its short cure time, this creamy filler can modify modeling planks quicker than other fillers that require a longer cure.
Requires BPO Hardener – 100R:2H (parts by weight).

This filler mixes easily and can be sanded, scraped, machined, or carved. When fully cured #4105 Polyester Low Density Plank Filler is semi-rigid and won't dull or damage tools. Typical applications include: engineering changes, fillets and radius areas, master models, pattern/fixtures, and tooling applications.

4105/264-A Kit contains 1 Quart Polyester Low Density Plank Filler & 1 oz tube of White BPO Hardener.
  • Resin Color (use with White BPO Hardener) – Model Plank Brown
  • Working Time (100 gram mass) – 4-6 minutes
  • Finish Schedule (100 gram mass) – 15-20 minutes
  • Cured Hardness – 60 Shore D

Polyester Plank Patch Paste
#4106 Polyester Plank Patch Paste is a two-part, thixotropic paste system for use with #4103 Polyurethane Die Plank. When creating production fixtures with the Polyurethane Die Plank, use this creamy, workable paste to repair small imperfections and to create a smooth, blemish-free surface. #4106 Polyester Plank Patch Paste exhibits superior handling, quick cure, great bonding characteristics, and dimensional stability. When cured, this patch paste forms a rigid, strong surface that can easily be machined, sanded, filed, and can accept virtually any type of paint or finish.
Requires BPO Hardener – 100R:2H (parts by weight). To achieve a grey color using #4106 Polyester Plank Patch Paste, catalyze the white resin with Black BPO Hardener. This color will closely match the grey color of a Polyurethane Die Plank.

Apply catalyzed #4106 Polyester Plank Patch Paste with a spatula or putty knife. Typical applications of #4106 Polyester Plank Patch Paste include: Polyurethane Die Plank surface repair and modification, filling composites surface porosity, bonding loose pieces and details, and crack, dent, and crevice repair.

4106/264-A Kit contains 1 Quart Polyester Plank Patch Paste & 1 oz tube of White BPO Hardener.
  • Resin Color – White
  • Working Time (100 gram mass) – 5 ± 1 minutes
  • Finish Schedule (100 gram mass) – 15 minutes
  • Hardness after 1 hour – 86 Shore D
