Chavant Y2-Klay Industrial Design Clay
This dark brown, hard styling clay can be used to create accurate prototypes and patterns. Y2-Klay is workable at 135°F and is hard at or below room temperature. The sulfur-free, low odor formula of Y2-Klay makes for a better working environment, and is 30%-40% lighter than other industrial styling clay; making the models easier to move and handle. Resistant to shrinking and cracking, Y2-Klay holds excellent surface detail and can be milled or shaped with tools.

Final clay forms made with Y2-Klay can be used as a plug, impression mold, or as a male or female mold. In order to use Y2-Klay as a mold-making material, the clay surface needs to be primed or top coated. To prepare the clay surface, spray 3 mist coats of PVA directly onto the clay. After the PVA has dried into a film, #1041 Duratec Gray Surfacing Primer or Tooling Gel Coat can be sprayed over the PVA to obtain a proper mold surface.
*Note: If Y2-Klay is used as a mold-making material, the original clay form will likely be destroyed.

Chavant Le Beau Touché Clay
This cream colored, sulfur-free modeling clay is extremely smooth and has excellent adhesive qualities. This non-drying, oil-based clay can be carved and shaped easily and will not crack. It is workable at room temperature but can be warmed to a maximum of 90°F to achieve softer, stickier clay. Very sensitive to heat variations, this original Le Beau Touché formula can easily be warmed and softened with the friction from rubbing it in your hands.

This clay can be used in fiberglass molding applications including; temporary fillets, construction of mold parting lines and quick repairs to molds. The oil base of this clay allows PVA separator to be applied to it and also provides a good measure of adhesion to waxed surfaces. Le Beau Touché products will not oxidize and can be left out or heated and cooled repeatedly without any significant change in the product.

*For a slightly firmer, less tacky clay for use where the working environment is expected to exceed 90°F, see
#1121 Chavant Le Beau Touché Clay HM.

Block Size: 2 lb block
Approximate block dimensions: 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" x 5"
Net case weight: 40 lbs (20 x 2 lb blocks)

Chavant Le Beau Touché Clay HM
This brown colored, sulfur-free modeling clay is extremely smooth. This non-drying, oil-based clay can be carved and shaped easily and will not crack. Unlike the original #1120 Chavant Le Beau Touché, this HM (High Melt) formula is less sensitive to heat variations and is suggested for use where the working environment is expected to exceed 90°F. HM is also slightly firmer and less tacky than the original. This clay is workable at room temperature but it can be warmed to soften and will work quite nicely at about 105°F (115°F Maximum). When it returns to room temperature, it will return to its original firmness.

*For a slightly softer, more tacky clay for use where the working environment is not expected to exceed 90°F, see #1120 Chavant Le Beau Touché Clay.
